His career as a professional contemporary drummer began in 1974 with Afrisa International of Tabu Ley Rochereau.  He also has had the opportunity to play with some of the biggest names in popular music from Africa and Jamaica including Franco, Kanda Bongo Man, Jimmy Cliff and many more.  During his career, he has traveled with various international groups throughout Africa, Europe, Australia, South America, Canada and The United States.

He started singing, dancing and drumming in 1965 along with his father, Ekofo Boyeka, son of a long line of Griots of Mbandaka, DRC. His professional credentials include performances with the Ballet National of Kinshasa, Sambolé, and Euro Disney Safari dance group. He toured internationally in Switzerland, Morocco and Asia with the dance group Kiti Na Mesa in 1996. He is now a recognized Master Drummer.
